Strengths and Weaknesses
The main strengths of Parliaments as law-making bodies are that the main role they have is to make the law. They provide a comprehensive review of the law. They are democratically elected and are the main representative bodies. The parliaments are able to delegate power. It has processes and procedures to fully research and debate issues. It has an effective and efficient process designed specifically to make laws.
The main weaknesses of the Parliaments as law-making bodies are that debate's can be lengthy and sometimes stalled by political tactics. Parliaments can only make laws when it is sitting; parliament sits for a limited time each year. The legislative process and be time consuming. They can also elect power to unelected bodies...
