The Assassination of John Fitzgerald Kennedy
The assassination of John Fitzgerald Kennedy was a mysterious tragedy that showed how an entire nation could be affected by one man's death. The accusations were made, but no one knew for sure what had actually happened on that tumultuous day. The people did know they had lost a great president, and the country was in sorrow. Before the loss of Kennedy, he affected our nation in several ways.
Originating from a wealthy Roman Catholic family, Kennedy did not have a difficult lifestyle. Kennedy was born in Brookline, Massachusetts on May 29,1917 and grew up with two younger sisters and nine brothers. He graduated from Harvard University and entered the Navy. His family was fixated on Democratic politics, and he was raised in that perspective. Kennedy followed by getting interested in Democratic politics himself. At age 44, he defeated Nixon in the presidential election of 1960, having 303 electoral votes and 34,226,731 popular votes while Nixon only had 219 electoral votes and 34,108,157 popular votes...
