The ancient Greeks were very community orientated. They believed in a strong central community. Their history and religion give us clues on how they focused on their community lives. I will also look into the ancient Greek's literature. In their epic stories and poems the ancient Greeks tried to compare their stories to how life in the community really was; they used the same values and morals in stories that they did in real life.
The religion of the ancient Greeks is very important for understanding how important the community was to the ancient Greeks. The ancient Greeks were a polytheistic people, believing in many Gods. Their belief in how Gods acted and intervened with human affairs greatly influenced there behavior and attitude when it came to community life. The Greeks knew that a God or goddess could intervene at any time, so they were constantly as a community offering up sacrifices and paying homage to the Gods...
