USA's Position In Iraq
My political cartoon was an idea I got when discussing the USA's position in Iraq during a class discussion. Someone had brought up the idea that we, the USA, were acting like a bully, by forcing our culture upon the Iraqi people. In my drawing a show o Afghanistan we had the desire of retaliating the attack of 9/11 by the Taliban, but when we went into Iraq, we went in on a suspicion of weapons of mass destruction(so far we have not found them or so the papers say). This is the first time the United States has gone into a country without being attacked first.
The US shows no sign in abandoning Iraq. Bush has said that the work of building a new Iraq "is hard and it is right." He further stated in the State of the Union speech that," We have not come all this way, through tragedy, and trail and war -- only to falter and leave our work unfinished." Now what I want to know is why he said "our work". Why does he think that everything in Iraq is "our work"? Is there not Iraqi people to form a new government in their country since it sort of is their country?..
