Singapore has been very actively and successful in providing basic healthcare from 1970s. Its healthcare philosophy is to nurture a healthy nation by promoting good health in each Singaporean. This is crucial as only when her citizens are able bodies; we can then contribute to the prosperity of Singapore and build a better home.
Next, Singapore has been trying to promote personal responsibility for ones health so as to avoid over-reliance on state of government and the medical insurance. For example, there are campaigns like health weeks and education in school about personal hygiene to inculcate health awareness in Singapore.
Singapore has aimed to provide good and affordable basic medical services to all Singaporeans. It is also attempted to raise efficiency and offer patients value for money.
Singapore realized that she must do much more to improve and keep ahead with the world in medical field. In our opinions, this a driving reason why she needs to reform and aim to be a world-class hub for medical service.
