Character Analysis on Elena Morales

Elena Morales is portrayed as the angel in disguise. A loving, strong and respectful upbringing has created a woman of high principles and values while she still possess' a caring and sensitive nature that has positively affected every aspect of her life. However
the underlying factor that is important when talking about Elena is her inability to forgive. Her mother makes a point to say to Elena, "you must learn forgiveness," to show her that she can judge too harshly at times. Her character sees life as either black or white, shades of the two are non existent in her mind, and the idea that people make mistakes and do feel regret and guilt about their actions doesn't seem to affect her ultimate and maybe even nave decisions.
Elena's job was based at the New York office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, where her day to day work involves assisting the U.N. refugee camps all around the world. The misery and horror passed over her desk everyday, more countries ruined by corrupt governments, poverty, wars, natural disasters was never ending, but what made it all bearable was Thursday afternoons. It was this day that with the help of her Cambodian friend Sem, they sat in a windowless room typing names into a computer database to help restore refugees with their lost families...
