Question:
By references to his appearances and what is said about him in Acts 1,2 and 3, show how Cassius is portrayed as a bitter and unhappy man.
Answer:
From reading the play "Julius Caesar", we are left with a deep impression of Cassius as a "bitter", "disillusioned" and "unhappy" person. ...
The appearance of Cassius is first introduced to us in Act 1 by Julius Caesar, by far the most prominent and shrewd character in the play. By having Caesar remark to Antony that he would avoid the "spare" and "lean" Cassius if he were the latter, Shakespeare leaves us with the impression that Cassius is a person whom is clearly unhappy and dangerous. ... Besides that, as Caesar is by far the most familiar character we know, we would probably heed his words.
