"Mending wall" is a poem written by Robert Frost. The poem briefly talks about two neighbours that meet up every springtime to mend their wall. The main theme that we find all throughout the poem is traditionalism against modernism. The traditionalist is the neighbour and modernist, the poet. There is a clash between the two.
At the start of the poem, we are aware not aware of any characters yet as the poem starts with the phrase " something". Something there could be anything/anyone. At the fifth line, the poet introduces the readers with minor characters such as the "hunters". It is only at the sixth line that the writer initiates us the "I" figure.
