Your walking through the park, and all of a sudden you fall through a hole. Your fall seems endless, but right when you are about to hit the ground, you wake up, It was all a dream. Descartes thought that it was possible that we could just be in one big dream and that someone was commandeering us. In this essay I will explain how Descartes overcomes his skepticism of the external world and then I shall criticize how Descartes overcomes his skepticism.
Have you ever wondered if you were in a very long dream? I know I have because when we normally dream, we don't know that we are dreaming until we wake up. Descartes pondered that isn't it possible that we could be in a dream and not know about it? Descartes is just trying to find a foundation for human knowledge. Descartes had 3 arguments against his senses.
