Slavery was considered the real first start of immigration. Which started in the early 1600's. Slaves were forced over to assist plantation owners maintain their homes, yards, and farms. Forced Immigration is only the first reason immigrants came to the America's. Another is political freedom, and economic opportunity, and forth was to escape prosecution by their native country.
A person was carted over in 1607. Along with him, stood over a hundred more African Americans pressed against each other in the bottom of a boat.
