Three years have passed now and I fear for the safety of France. What once appeared to be a prosperous country with a growing economy and strong government, now struggles to even stay together as a nation. I do not believe in the power of our King and his greedy thief of a wife Marie. The longstanding financial crisis has grown worse. The First Assembly of Notables were gathered to discuss raising taxes but were quickly rejected. Since Alexandre de Calonne who is the Estates General, first declared a financial crisis, many solutions like this one have been tried but all have failed. The parliament has grown strong and the people of middle class and lower have become supporters causing the King to banish their meetings to Troyes. This caused many unnecessary riots in Paris and the Parliament was quickly reestablished showing the weakness of our King.
Etienne Charles de Lomenie de Brienne has replaced Calonne as Estates General to the delight of much of the population. I personally believe Calonne's idea to tax the third estate was an excellent, why should we pay for being a higher class?..
