Censorship in the Media
Don't you hate it when your watching your favorite movie on TV, and your favorite part comes up, but they change the whole thing because of one little swear? I know I do, how about when you have to go get a book for school and the library doesn't have it because it's banned? Or better yet, a song comes on the radio and every other word is beeped out, that's censorship in the media. The censoring of literature, music, or television is like taking away someone's ideas, or better yet taking away there freedom of speech. In my paper I am going to tell you why censorship in the media is unfair, some stories from people who are victims of censorship in the media, and hopefully change or strengthen your opinion on media censorship.
Censorship in the media is unfair, it is unfair to us and it is unfair to the authors, musicians, or producers who are victims of it. It's unfair because it takes away the ideas that the authors, musicians, or producers have worked so hard to come up with. Also it is unfair because it is our right as Americans to freedom of speech, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
