Terrorism, a phrase sprouted amongst the media organisations and from the lips of politicians the world over, in this constant atmosphere of fear what does terrorism stand for, and what is the terrorist main goal from committing such an act? In this case study in intend to examine the main perpetrators of such an act, their reasoning, and the end goal behind it. I have examined the Internet to source this information. Examining search engines, Governmental sites, and news organisations websites.
Terrorism as a means of Political persuasion.
Throughout history force or the threat of force has been a major system of political manipulation, from the Russian revolution used by the Bolsheviks to gain power in 1917 to the tragic loss of over 2,750 people in the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York, USA. However, the question is asked, what effect does the infliction of force have on a political organisation or culture? Recently demonstrated the use of force on civilian targets creates a massive effect on a target population, with the greatest example being the terrorist bombings on Madrid, Spain(March 11th 2004). After a shocking number of blasts on a crowded civilian commuter train the Spanish population turned out in force and in effect "evicted" the ruling popular party who had maintained government for several years. One of the main campaign promises of the new government was to remove it's troops from a Iraq a small country in the middle east known as the war zone in the Gulf wars of 1991 and 2003 respectively...
