Travelling to Paris, three weeks ago, I did not expect that I meet someone eccentric. I got an accommodation in one of French families with whom me and my friends were to spend a few days. No sooner had we rung a doorbell than we found that the family who opened a door for us was unusual. First of all they were black. I am not a racist (so do my friends), but not to get used to them in Poland, we were rather taken aback at first. It was completely a new and wonderful experience to live with them under one roof, share our points of view and lifestyles.
Margueritte, a mother and a wife, was the most eccentric person in the family. The most striking thing was her appearance. Her stout body was adorned in some kind of long, loose and gaudy dress with a lot strange shaped beads and bracelets around her neck and wrists (which we can often see on films about African's life). She explained to us that she always wears that kind of the suit on special occasions to maintain the tradition she had brought from Africa...
