Beowulf and King Arthur Contrasts and Comparisons

If you have ever listened to tales of Beowulf and the legends of King Arthur, you will probably find that they are very much alike yet also very different. These differences are what make these two famous heroes who and what they are. In reading or listening to the stories of each, one will see that both Beowulf and Arthur become king, but it seems that each has their own method of ruling. In Excalibur, as well as many of the legends of King Arthur, the land only prospers and long as Arthur does. Beowulf, on the other hand, seems to always have riches and only wishes for more glory. As one continues to listen to these legends, many more likenesses and differences will become evident.
In the story of Beowulf, we find that Beowulf is raised in royalty. Beowulf then grows to be a knight and begins to roam about seeking glory. Beowulf is said to be the strongest man in all the world at the time this story takes place. On the other hand, in the legends of Arthur, we see that Arthur is raised by foster parents with humble means...
