Dabscheck's general theory of industrial relations in concerned with the relations and interactions between the individuals, groups and organisations that are involved in industrial relations. His theory consists essentially of the following eight propositions:
1. Australian industrial relations comprises n interactors;
2. Interactors interact in orbits of interaction;
3. There is no limit on the number of interactors within a particular orbit;
4. An interactor can inhabit more than one, or many, orbits;
5. Orbits interact with each other;
6. Interactors are motivated by the desire to enhance their authority within orbits of interaction
7. Interactors, or those in a particular orbit, can create new interactors and hence new orbits;
8. Interactors, or those in a particular orbit, can destroy other interactors and hence create new orbits...
