Decision Making Tools, Techniques and Application
There are always decisions to be made in management. If there were no decisions to be made, business would run on autopilot and there would be no need for managers. Management is often a challenge, as decisions are made with incomplete and imperfect information. Decision-making should whenever possible be made with planning. Planning allows for goals, measurement, action, and commitment. While some decisions are more important than others planning is an essential part of the process, and utilizing tools or techniques requires problem solving and assists in simplifying the process if used correctly. There are a variety of decision-making tools and techniques that can assist managers with the process of decision-making. The following describes a few and an example of recent use in the workplace.
