The Punic Wars
The Punic Wars were three battles fought between Rome and Carthage from 264 B.C. to 146 B.C. The Romans initially wanted to gain control of the island of Sicily. This then spread to the Roman control of the western, and then the eastern Mediteranean territory, and finally, to the total destruction of the city of Carthage.
The first Punic War was fought from 264 B.C. to 241 B.C...
