Censorship is Ultimately A Self-Defeating PracticeDiscuss

In this age in which the moral fabric of society is gradually growing frail, it has been found necessary to implement restrictions on mediums of influence by means of censorship. Censorship by definition is any governmental restriction implemented on forms of expression before they are disseminated to the public.
This practice has found harsh critics from those in the libertarian camp. They argue that censorship is contrary to the human liberty that is preserved by the constitution and philosophical reasoning in the exercise of choice and freedom of expression. Consequently, censorship they say, is a self-defeating policy.
There are five basic objections to the censorship of mediums of expression.
Firstly, it is said that it is self-defeating because it stirs interest and curiosity in the every thing that it seeks to suppress. Hence, interest levels are increased by the enforcement of censorship and eventually, persevering curiosity drives the individual to obtain the uncensored version of the material.
