THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM
The following parts that are listed are organs that are part of the digestive system. The organs are the mouth, esophagus, salivary glands, liver, gallbladder, stomach, duodenum, pancreas, small intestine, large intestine, rectum, and the anus.
The liver and the gallbladder are not part of the digestive system. The digestive system takes place by food entering the mouth. Teeth chew the food to be broken down into smaller pieces. Chemicals in the saliva help break down the food that is chewed. From there it enters the esophagus, where your muscles squeeze the food and it then enters the stomach. It is mixed and churned in digestive chemicals. The stomach brings the food to the duodenum. The food travels down the duodenum and into the small intestine...
