Overall Perceptions of NAM
One of the most controversial events of the 20th century was the Vietnam War. People everywhere across America had their own view or perception on the war. Some said it was necessary to stop the spread of communism. Others claimed American lives were being wasted for a cause that didn't concern America. In an overall study done by Seaholm High School students there were three main perceptions by local people. These are their stories.
The third top response when asked about the perception of the Vietnam War was how involved the media was with this war. Before Vietnam no war was ever televised. It was the first time in history that the average American could just turn on a box and watch a war. It was the first time people could watch the absolute carnage and brutality of war...
