Glazing Ceramics
Glazing ceramics is a fun and creative art activity. But what really is a ceramic glaze? A ceramic glaze really is just a mixture of silica and flux that are used to vitrify a ceramic base. Flux is a readily fusible glass or enamel. It promotes melting. Silica is a white or colorless crystalline compound (Si02). It occurs just as much as quartz, sand, flint, or agate. So what about the glaze?
