In ancient Egypt, the Egyptians believed in religion very much. Everybody believed in the concept of the many different gods. However, it was difficult to memorize every single god and every single chant to worship the gods. That was why a form of text was used to record these things. That form of text was known as hieroglyphs. They were a form of writing shown by pictures that had many meanings. Its importance was displayed through its different meanings, how it was used to worship the gods, and how they acted as a key into the world known as the afterlife. If it was not for the hieroglyphs playing these roles, it would have been difficult for Egyptians to carry out their religion.
