Imagine for a minute that you are a Muslim living in the Middle East, you are sixteen years old. As a child it was found out that your father allowed you to go to school so he was violently beaten and you were raped. At age 11 you were circumcised the most unbearably pain you have ever been through. At age 13 you got married to a 36 year old man, you have had 2 children, your first child being buried alive just because she was a female. You have no education and you are not allowed to work, you are sexual, emotional and physical abused every day but you are terrified to divorce your husband as you will have no financial support. You're three best friends are all dead, the first committed suicide to get away from it all, the second was killed by her husband as she was thought of being "unfaithful" and the third was killed because acid was thrown in her face as she was not wearing her veil.
These are factors that affect Muslim women ever day, in our society we cannot even begin to imagine the horrific things that happen to these women. They have little hope as they are physical, sexually and emotional abused every day. Now not all Muslim women experience such horrific things but some do, and one is too many. These women have no virtually no rights, and the men realize this as one of their prayers is "thank you, you did not make me a women"...
