The Future of General Internal Medicine
"The best prize life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing." This is the premise on which my academic and career aspirations are based. The major that I have chosen is a field that will benefit others and enhance my growth by requiring me to face challenges successfully. My primary academic interest is internal medicine. Internal medicine is the nonsurgical medical specialty concerned with diseases of internal organs in adults. Physicians who specialize in the field, known as internists, are skilled in disease prevention and in managing complex disorders of the body. Internists may be either generalists or specialists. No one knows where the future of internal medicine may lead to with the way society is today. I read an article that was written by the Society of General Internal Medicine.
