Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in this country, and it has been for a large number of years now. The prevalence of this disease and the lack of a full proof cure makes it one of the most important issues facing medical researchers at the moment. These researchers are spending enormous amounts of time and money attempting to either find some way of curing cancer, or to be able to rid cancer in people before it ever occurs. As of right now they have only been able to find some ways of putting it in to remission for most cancers, and a cure for only a very few kinds of cancer and they must be detected early. Since this disease is such a strong issue is why it deserves to get a more in depth look into what it is, what causes it (or what puts you at risk), and how different social factors can play a role in the contracting of this terminal illness.
What exactly is cancer? Cancer is uncontrollable growth of cells due to DNA damage or other abnormalities that stimulate abnormal division of the cells.
