On June 13, 1752 in King's Lynn, Norfolk, a beautiful small woman with crisp features was born (Frances Burney 1). She encompassed light brown hair, deep hazel-blue eyes, and just a beautiful look in all (British Writers). She was born in a family of a music historian, Dr. Charles Burney, and a beautiful mother, Esther Sleepe Burney (Biography of Frances Burney 1). This amazing child went by the name of Frances Burney d'Arblay.
Frances Burney became the first woman who made writing novels a respectable aspect. The way this respect was evolved was that from the time Burney knew her alphabet, she was a writer, composing odes, plays, songs, farces, and poems at an early age (Fanny Burney 1). Burney and her sister would write journals all day and were sometimes scolded by their father for leaving the journals around where people could get a hold of them and read them. The journals included personal and public affairs that were relevant to that time (Biography of Frances Burney 1).
Unfortunately, at the age of 15, Burney's stepmother's view of women writers forced Burney to burn all of her precious writings (Frances Burney 1)...
