Sitcom analysis
Sitcoms, or situation comedies, are television shows that portray a character, or group of characters, in situations that are blown way out of proportion. The shows are aimed mainly at adults and last from thirty minutes to one hour. Some sitcoms are aimed at teenagers though. Sitcoms are sometimes used to bump up a television station's rating.
One adult themed sitcom is called 'My Wife and Kids.' It tells the adventures of a black nuclear family household. There is a father, a mother, a son, and a daughter.
The father is portrayed as a stereotyped husband. He forgets birthdays, his anniversary, and other vital bits of information that are important to his wife. On top of this, he has quite a large ego The mother is also stereotyped in her portrayal...
