Ragtime by E. L. Doctorow

Based on the book by Terrence McNally, Ragtime is an epic tale of three types of people in New Rochelle New York, 1906. It takes the lives of an upper middle class family with it's typical scenario of wealth. It takes a Harlem community where they dance to the sweet sounds of Coalhouse Walker Jr. Then it takes an immigrant named Tatah and his daughter. Now the main center of focus is Coalhouse Walker. What's happens in this story is the intertwining of all of the families at some point in the show. The plot is as follows. Father goes away from New York and leaves Little Boy, Mother and Younger Brother who is a mastermind at explosives. Mother finds a Negro baby, still alive, in here garden, along with it's mother not far from there. Sarah explains why she left her son(Your Daddy's son). Mother allows Sarah to be a helper around the house and gives her a room. We find out later in the story, that Coalhouse is the father (Wheels of a dream).
