A. The experiences that Owen dealt with in Freedom Song resulted in many internal and external conflicts for him to take in. Owen was publicly "whooped" by his father for entering a "whites only" restaurant. This caused him to feel a lot of mental stress. He was angry because white people MADE Owen's dad beat him in order to leave. Owen's father had the option of beating Owen himself, or having the owner beat Owen for his "mistake". Owen did not want another man to hurt his son, and did the task himself. Owen was young and didn't know better, yet was hit, regardless. As Owen aged this made him feel powerless and only caused him to want to fight back. The experience at the diner gave one additional result...
