PURPOSE:
This report will summarize information researched from a variety of resources regarding steroid use in sports. It will provide information about the issues surrounding steroid use in sports.
RESOURCES USED:
The information gathered mainly comes from internet sites found through the Widdifield Secondary School Home Page. A complete list of Works Cited follows the body of the report.
DATA:
It is believed that that German soldiers during World War II were the first to use Steroids. They were given them to increase their performance on the battlefield, The next known time that steroids are used is in the Olympic games in Helsinki, Where the Russians performed extremely well. They were then accused of using steroids. After this time more and more athletes start using the steroids to keep up with athletes who are already using them, and in 1975 The Olympic committee ban's the use of steroids in any Olympic event.
