As anyone who's watched it can tell you, NBC's The West Wing is a pretty liberal program. Depicting a fictional Democratic President, most of its episodes include discussions of the virtues of various democratic programs and issues and how they are better than more conservative ones. It is a rare occasion indeed when this program concedes that a certain conservative program is actually superior. In fact, it's only happened on one occasion that I have seen: on the subject of school vouchers. In the episode "Full Disclosure" from last February, a main plot is how the black Democratic mayor of Washington D.C. is fed up with the lack of proper education in the city, and at the end the Democratic president similarly concedes and then they together create a voucher system for Washington D.C. This sounds far-fetched, but it actually mirrored a nearly similar event that happened in real life.
