1. History of the company
Charles Schwab established the company, Charles Schwab & Co., Inc in 1971 to establish as an innovator in the brokerage industry. Up until 1975, the government regulated the brokerage commissions. After deregulation, brokerage firms reduced commissions to almost half. Cheap execution attracted many investors who knew what they wanted to buy or sell. Schwab developed several technology based security transaction in order to take full advantage of the deregulation.
