Seven Days in May and Manchurian Candidate
During the Cold War the United States had great difficulty in maintaining moral stability. The Cold War was a time in which many controversial issues were brought up including a government coup d'etat or a communist invasion. The United States had to deal with issues within the country as well as coming from outside. In Seven Days in May, and Manchurian Candidate, both directed by John Frankenheimer, the United States must face government conspiracies. The portrayal of the enemy during the Cold War is compared and contrasted in the production of the two films, Seven Days in May and Manchurian Candidate.
The illustration of the enemy in these two films displays the different ways in which the United States is affected during the Cold War.
