When I first got assigned this paper I was not sure how I should approach this subject. Term limits seemed like an impossible topic to have. Now I realize that term limits is a bigger question facing out nation then most people would think it as.
Do term limits work is the question that is on every government mind when they decide weather to put a term limit on an office or not to put it there. In the United States they have put a term limit on the President of the United States. By ratifying the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution of the United States they put a two-term limit on the president. They put the limit on even though there had been an unwritten law that started when George Washington decided that after two terms he had had enough.
The 22nd Amendment also says that if a person serves more then two years of someone else's term they can then only serve for one more elected term. The amendment was put in place to keep one person from getting too much power in the government. In the United States this term limit has succeeded...
