Purpose of Unions
Often in our complex society the interests of the workers and of the employers can clash. In these situations individual employees, if left to themselves, are in a weak position in relation to their employer large businesses. So workers can join together or unite in unions to defend their rights.
The purpose of a union:
To defend the rights of workers
To improve conditions eg. pay
To give employees a voice-representation
To fight for employees who have bee unfairly dismissed
