A few days after her wedding my grandmother was asked to make a boiled egg sandwich. She closely followed her husband’s instructions to boil the eggs, mash them and then just put them inside the bread. He returned to find a sandwich on a plate in the centre of the kitchen table. He picked it up and took a huge bite. He immediately yelled out in dismay as he discovered his mouth was full of egg, bread…and eggshells. Many men claim that women are better at cooking and cleaning than they are. However that is not the truth. Many women cannot cook or clean very well at all. These attributes are in no way related to gender, they vary from person to person. Many men are skilled cooks and perfectly able to clean up after themselves yet they are not expected to stay at home and raise children. Women have a stronger bond with their children than men is another ludicrous statement that men often utter.
