Summary on Dibs in Search of Self I found that Dr. Axlines book of Dibs was very interesting and troubling too. Dr. Axline talks about how Dibs came about and her sessions she had with the boy. Dibs is a boy who was not opened up to the world and had problems doing so. He was thought to have mental deficiencies because he would not talk or open himself up to others. Dibs was born into a wealthy family that did not want anything to do with him. His mother was a doctor and his dad was a scientist and they did not know how to be a parent. They did however teach him to read and put him into a school. The boy’s parents, who locked him in his room all the time, which probably put him into a shell away from the world, took him to many specialists.
