Imagine living in a society were people all over you were free to do anything they want and you were the one of the few who couldn't? Imagine going back into a time warp to the early twentieth century where everything was forbidden for a female but imagine living through those days in 2001. I have to do through all of these obstacles for the rest of my life. Why, you might ask; because of my culture.
America is a pluralistic society. It has many different norm, beliefs, and values all mixed in it. How is it that an American culture is different from other cultures; how is it different from the Arabian culture that I am a part of? How did these differences affect my daily life while I was growing up in America: born and raised in America, I saw the few similarities and major differences between the two cultures. Could you imagine living between two cultures that are completely different in many ways? I have had that experience and still facing it today and probably will face it for the rest of my life...
