The mass media plays an important part in disseminating information to the public. It exists in the form of newspapers, radio, television, internet and so on. The mass media gathers information on various issues but this information has to undergo a form of editing and filtration-each country has its own standard criteria- before it is published. A completely free mass media means that there will be no degree of government control. Presently, there has been no record in any country of having a completely free mass media as this may lead to chaos in the country and the authority of the government is challenged. A completely free mass media may affect the political, social and economic aspect of a country adversely. Therefore a mass media, which is totally not subjected to interference by the government, should not exist.
Mass media is responsible for presenting information regarding politics publicly. This is particularly because journalists and reporters are on the front line in obtaining information about any political comings and goings.
