Memories. Each one of us can look back on life through the scrapbook of our own minds. Questions are answered and some are not, a lot of "why me" or "what if" still remains for most. Re-living the past or living in the future, looking at the world through "rose colored glasses," or sitting quietly on a park bench watching the people stroll by, Paul Simon portrays his view of memories in "Old Friends".
Simon vividly describes the setting for his audience. Life in New York City: fast-paced, the hustle and bustle of the streets, no time to dwell and look around you because there is a schedule to keep. The Big Apple will eat you up and spit you out; the laws of Darwinism definitely apply. In the middle of this chaos lies 40-acres of isolated greenery. Central Park...
