Contrasting Tall Nettles by Edward Thomas and Ozymandias by Percy Shelley

In the poems "Tall Nettles", by Edward Thomas and "Ozymandias". by P.B.Shelley, the idea of man and nature are conveyed similarly. The main idea conveyed in both poems is the idea of time and how man will come and go but nature will be there forever and will triumph over man and his creations.
In "Tall Nettles', Thomas shows this idea by saying "Tall Nettles cover up the rusty harrow, the ploughand the roller made of stone." The man-made tools were efficient once but eventually the nettles have defeated them and now cover them up. In "Ozymandias", Shelley takes a similar approach where times wastes away human creations The statue of Ozymandias was once great but now it has been destroyed over time and is a wreck in the middle of the desert.
Both poets use lots of metaphors in their poems. Thomas uses them when he talks about the dust on the nettles that are always there except after a shower...
