IT IS an entourage befitting a queen bee.
Teen star Lindsay Lohan's telephone interview is preceded by two Paramount minders calling at 10-minute intervals to ensure that the reporter is waiting by the telephone.
Twenty minutes after the scheduled time, yet another PR minder calls to announce that Ms Lohan is finally on the line and adds a dictum: 'No personal questions about the family.'
When the raspy-voiced 17-year-old takes over, she proves to be an amiably polite interviewee. But there is a hint of the strong-willed woman she is growing up into when she talks about deferring college for career.
'This is something I've worked hard for. To go to college and just put it aside, it would be hard to come back to,' she says.
'This' refers to a red-hot career. She is headlining not one but two movies this summer. And she has just completed hosting gigs for the MTV Movie Awards 2003 and an episode of Saturday Night Live...
