Facts
The Paul Cronan case is the reason why we have discrimination laws in businesses all around the United States. In the Paul Cronan case he was discriminated for his physical abilities. Paul Cronan, a long time service technician of the New England Telephone Company (NET), worked there since 1973. Because of his sexual preference, he came in contact with what is called Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). From this sickness he started to miss work quit often, but his supervisor promised to keep his ailment confidential. Unfortunately, word quickly spread about Cronan's sickness to the other employees. When Paul would be at work different employees would refuse to work by him and they would make fun of him.
Things started to become worse and as time went on Paul allotted for all of his sick and disability benefits, therefore placing him on Long Term Disability (LTD). Being put on LTD meant that Paul was no longer an employee and would only receive half of his normal monthly income. Since it was a company requirement, he was able to obtain a medical certificate allowing him to return to work...
