Sydney Olympic Games Are A Waste Of Money

The Sydney Olympic Games were an excessive use of money. Host cities have large sums of money be repaid by the residents of that state. The funds should have been spent on better services and equipment for hospitals, education, public transport, etcetera.
On the news there are always problems about hospitals lacking beds or staff because they dont receive enough funds. The Australian Government always promises that funding shall be distributed to hospitals. Yet, when the Olympic Games came, part of the money promised to hospitals were spent on the organisation and equipment needed to host the Olympic Games. If the Olympic Games were not to be hosted here, then the funding could have been used on hospitals to upgrade the quality of these facilities and even save more lives.
Education is another issue that is related to the money being spent on the Olympic Games. The Teachers Union now often go on strike to inform the government that they demand more pay. Again, if the money were not used for the preparation of the Olympic Games, teachers would not have to strike...
