Walking away from millions of dollars in the NFL to become a soldier at war and dying does not make Pat Tillman anymore patriotic than any other volunteer soldier who died in the war. Pat Tillman death was highly publicized because he left the National Football League and lots of money to volunteer for the armed forces. In most cases the United States does not even recognize soldiers who fought and died in war. Pat Tillman left a life of living large to fight and kill people in war does not make him better than any other soldier from a less spectacular lifestyle. On the other hand, giving up riches to fight for his county showed excellent patriotism. Overall, Pat Tillman dying in war should not be more important than any other soldier just because he left behind fame and fortune.
Pat Tillman walked away from 3.6 million dollars to become a soldier at war. Tillman was tragically killed and his death became headline news as if there were no other soldiers who died in war. As Joel Gillman said, "Contrary to what the propaganda would have us believe, there is no glory in dying for this convoluted cause of freedom, this war the administration and its trump as patriotism...
