A talented writer is able to grab the reader's attention by giving them a detailed storyline, based on their knowledge of the topic. David Pelzer is able to do this by writing a true story of his life and how he was brought up. He gives the audience a detailed description of the methods his mother used to discipline him".I sit on top of my hands at the bottom of the stairs in the garage.my hands went numb hours ago, but that's nothing now-I've learned to turn if the pain.I'm mothers prisoner." David explains the types of conflict, issues and common difficulities his mother and him experience throughout his childhood.
