J. Hector St. John Crevecoeur was one of the many men and women, who embarked on a journey to start a new life in a new land, now known as America. Crevecoeur along with others was infatuated with the lifestyle these "new Americans" were upholding. In Letters from an American Farmer he notes the significant differences in lifestyle and government of America and those of the countries throughout Europe. He saw how the country had flourished and the national pride spread like wildfire through everyone arriving in this country. Crevecoeur was one of the relatively few men who had the ability and money to travel between America and Europe. By doing so he was able to directly express his feelings and opinions to the new world to the people of Europe. His letters still hold as much significance now as they may have in the late 1700's and early 1800's. America is still the "Giant Melting Pot" of races and cultures from all around the world...
