The book the 'The Wolf on the Fold' resembles to the storyline of the book in many ways, and in some ways does not resemble the book at all. As the story begins, it tells of a young boy named Kenny Sinclair who is forced to drop out of school and search for work to keep the family together, to pay the rent for the house and to put food on the table. As he rides off on his father's old bike, down to the factories to get a job there, he notices a fire lit down in the bush. As it was early in the morning, it was cold. Kenny stopped to get warmth back into his fingers and face, refusing to tak his mother's advice, as she said to keep to the road and don't stop for anything or anyone. But Kenny did stop. He stopped and met someone on the other side of the fire. Thinking he was friendly and didn't look the type to kidnap young children, Kenny talked to him. As he was about to leave, the man had grabbed him by the ankles, leaving Kenny in fear for his life.
As Kenny lay there on the ground, struggling to break free and thinking of what to do, a poem had come into mind...
