A Poets Originality
According to Percy Bysshe Shelley, an eminent English poet, "A poem is the very image of life expressed in its eternal truth." There is no doubt that he is correct; however, poets use different poetic features, techniques, and styles to get their point through to the reader. This is what gives a poem the originality that it needs in order to be considered a significant piece to the audience. In the ballads of Dudley Randall and Paul Simon, as well as in the poems of Run D.M.C and William Blake, the audience is exposed to a diverse group of poets who clearly illustrate their own thoughts and feelings within their poetry. Within their unique styles of poetry they all manifest few similarities and many differences that make their work exquisite.
